We're a full-service internet agency located on one of the most beautiful canals in the city center of Amsterdam, and we're currently developing our platform as a start-up. Our team is highly collaborative and passionate about delivering innovative solutions to our clients.
We are seeking a talented and driven Back-end Developer with a Front-end affinity and Laravel knowledge to join our small but dynamic team. As a Back-end Developer, you will work on our start-up platform and assist in building websites using our content management system for higher-end clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the back end of our platform, ensuring it is reliable, efficient, and scalable. You will also be able to contribute to the design and development of the platform's front end, making it user-friendly and visually appealing for our clients.
To be successful in this position, you should have a strong understanding of web development and programming languages such as PHP, Laravel, MySQL, and JavaScript. It would be best if you also understood front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and jQuery.
As a Back-end Developer with Front-end affinity and Laravel knowledge, you will work closely with our small but highly collaborative team of designers, project managers, and other developers to ensure the project's timely and successful completion. You should be able to work independently and collaboratively and possess excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.

Responsibilities
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging - Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
- Implementation of security and data protection
- Design and implementation of data storage solutions
- Setup and administration of backups
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Perform UI tests to optimize performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
- Gather and address technical and design requirements
- Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features - Follow emerging technologies
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as a Back-end developer
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
- Hands-on experience with programming languages like PHP & Laravel
- Working knowledge of CMS framework
- Knowledge of website and web application development
- Knowledge of UI and cross-browser compatibility
- Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, and CSS)
- Excellent analytical and time management skills
- Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
